No matter the gain setting, the treble in channel 2 seems weaker than channel 1.

Is this normal?

Thanks.

There is no Rebel 65. Are you talking about the Rebel 30, or the 65 watt Renegade?

Oops, do I feel stupid.

Yes, the Renegade. Sorry.

Most of this kind of thing are probably tubes, but what do you mean by weaker?

Less bright, even when I crank the treble.

It is hard to know without hearing your amp. I do know that tonal characteristics do vary slightly between the channels somewhat, but it shouldn't be like night and day.

Is this characteristic there regardless of which power tubes are selected?

My inclination is to suspect a tube or set of tubes. How long have you had the amp? And does it still have the stock tubes?

It is a Musician's Friend restock. I've only had it a couple of days. I'm not sure it's "night and day", but it's noticeable. And, while I can tell the difference between the two tube sets, the treble is not really affected.

I guess I was just wondering if anyone who had a Renegade noticed a difference in the treble intensity between the two channels. It may very well be normal.

I can't say that I've noticed this to be a problem in my Renegade 212.

Sorry I can't be of more help.

Haven't noticed it here. Any gain channel will tend to be less bright it seems to me.
