Just an update: I felt it was necessary to note that I am no longer running my effects thru the effects loop simply because once I pulled the cables out my tone was alot better, its like the Renegade manual says its best if you dont have to use the effects loop as 100% of your tone is then routed thru your effects, I was using a Strymon Timeline and Strymon Bigsky both very high quality and it still affected my tone so I have come to the conclusion its best not to interfere with the signal at that point in the circuit, dont get me wrong the effects loop is great but it only makes sense that once you start routing 100% of your signal thru another device its going to alter it and not for the better.

So, what good is the effects loop if Egnater recommends not using it? That's effed up.

your misunderstanding their advice, which is if you want the ultimate tone from the amp its best not to run the amps preamp tubes thru an effect before it hits the speakers, I find that running my effects in the front end gives me a better tone overall, for the way I want to run my setup.

(guitar-effects-preamp tubes-power amp tubes-speakers=better tone) as opposed to: (guitar-preamp tubes-effects loop-power amp tubes-speakers=not as good) dosnt mean it will sound bad by any means.

the effects loop is a good effects loop, but the manual just explains that once you put an effect in the loop 100% of the tone of the preamp tubes has to now go thru your effect and often times an effect dosnt allow the full pristine signal to flow thru it as we would like it to, especially if your using a not so great effects pedal.

Dont get me wrong my effects sounded great thru the effects loop, I just found them to sound even better running into the front of the amp, this allows the signal to flow thru the amps preamp tubes unhindered before going thru the power tubes and coming out the speakers, thus a better tone.

If you run the effects loop the preamp tubes signal gets sent thru your effects before coming out of your speaker so to some degree your tone is compromised, how bad depends on how good or bad your effects pedal buffer or circuit is.....

thus you get better tone if you dont run an effect in the loop, that dosnt mean you cant or that it wont sound good, just not as good as a pure unhindered signal...

and of course if your looking for a negative spin and dont wanna take the time to understand whats being said, then your a hater and I dont have time for ya...lot of those on here.

No misunderstanding on my part, I can read, and comprehend just fine. ;)

I read your post, and the section in the manual that includes; "This is one of the reasons we discourage players from using pedals in a loop."

It is similar with most any tube amp, some effects sound best up front and some sound best in the loop. But I've not heard of any other company with reasons to discourage use of the loop. It is called an "effects" loop after-all. I have to wonder what some of their other reasons are. So yes, putting in an effects loop and then discouraging the use of that loop is effed up.

JMOOC

This is just plain wrong:

No, you are the one that doesn't understand. With the effects up front, the effects are put onto your signal before the preamp tubes, so the effects color the tone immediately out of the guitar before going into the amp, which is 100% of your signal. Using the effects in the loop is what is supposed to allow the tone in the preamp to be unhindered until just before the power tubes, which means that 100% of the signal in the preamp is "unhindered" by the effects until the loop. Look at your tube chart and you can see that the loop is after the preamp, just before the PI and power tubes.

Thanks for reminding me why I dont like these forums....now I can play guitar instead of chat on hear....Im out....
