renegade xlr to tascam 1/4" unbalanced

you can pick up a line transformer (I think that's what they're called) that will go from xlr to 1/4" then run it into the tascam on the line setting. Something like this should do the trick...you'll just need a short xlr cable

wow, that's a tiny little rec. unit. Looks cool, how do you like it. I think you can get that Line transformer in more of a cable version also if you don't want all that heavy hardware hangin directly off the rec. jack.

I actually love it-easy to use, I have mics-and the built in mics work good-I just want to try the line out to see how it sounds with the speakers out of the equation, got it on sale for 125

You can just make a cable/adapter to do this.

XLR pin 1 to 1/4" sleeve (ground)
XLR pin 2 to 1/4" tip (hot)
XLR pin 3 no connection.

Are you sure the Tascam inputs are not balanced R/T/S jacks?

Thanks Bruce- I was wondering if I could just hack a cable. Surprising enough, just mono ins on the entry level Tascam. Its a basic recorder-but works great and ez to use . I've got 2 young kids-so It's great when you've only got small gaps of time to lay something down.
