I just gave it to them for a pickup swap, my mistake. They must have really had it in for me.

Two paint chips and a multi-direction scratch. I couldn't believe it. I complained, as it's a big company here, but my poor guitar is ruined.

Anyway, the Bareknuckle pickups sound good. And it's not like any of my other guitars are free of scratches anyway, though that's also no fault og my own.

Here's a recording:

Sounds great imho, but quite hard to look at what was a great guitar reduced to that. I guess I really shouldn't worry too much about these things anyway.

Wrote some "meaningful" lyrics to go with the song, sort of to give myself some perspective:

"Not free or for sale forevermore,
The answer is and will always be "no",
I'm taking it with me when I go,
*Something something, go f yourself?* it's the end of the road"

That’s insane- can you sue? Otherwise maybe aristides can fix up the finish for you?

They didn’t go beyond the primer, you can use some touch up paint and buff and polish to repair it. It will take some work but it’s not ruined.

That would piss me off big time.

I've watched some of these guitar techs at GC and local music stores, and the way many handle instruments is like the old Samsonite commercial with the gorilla throwing the suitcase around.

I've been doing my own setups for many years; and while I don't enjoy it nor am I very good at soldering I'll do my own pickup swaps. Even though I find it tedious, and it takes me longer than most to do it.

You can find decent inexpensive soldering kits - I use one I got for my kid to learn how to solder; it comes with practice projects to learn how to solder as an extra bonus.

I replaced the stock pickups in my Chibanez with DiMarzios last year:
