Repairing a junk acoustic….

MURDERATOR
Neck was cracked and seperating from the body. Glued and clamped it so hopefully that’s fine. Started cleaning years of funk from the neck. Cleaned, oiled and waxed the board…after filing and polishing the frets of course. Ordered a saddle and when it comes in I will tweak the neck and do a good setup on it. Old Chinese harmony parlor. I don’t really expect much from it but maybe it will surprise me….nah… it won’t. Ohhh well…something to fuck around with….

Not the best pictures. That’s after glueing and clamping if that tells you how bad it was. Thinking about sanding down around the break and smoothing it and then coloring it but what’s the point?

Yeah, that looks solid. If it's just a beater, why bother making it pretty? I bought an old parlor guitar a while back for $60, and it came with fold Gotoh tuners on it. I figured if it became firewood, I can sell the tuners and break even. It plays like butter though, so I just leave it leaning next to couch and play it when I'm laying around. As long as it works, roll with it.

Yeah once the saddle and pins get here I’ll set it up and try it out. Hope it sounds decent.
