After communicating with Trent Blake @ Mesa regarding the specs of the Mesa fan, I searched for a possible replacement.
Finally found a great match!
I just put in a Nanoxia Deep Silence 60 mm - 2000 rpm fan in my Mesa Boogie Mark V:25

At 12 volts this fan rotates at 2,000 revolutions per minute. The Deep Silence 60 mm generates an air flow of 15.8 CFM at a noise level of 12.1 dB(A).

TOTAL F*#IN' SILENCE now! I mean, recording an introvert clean ballad in a studio-silent!

Hooray!

I had to cut the red and black wires of the Mesa's original fan as well as the wires of the new fan; soldered them halfway together, with heatshrinking over it so that no wire would be exposed.
I would greatly advise Mesa to take the $5-7 hit on profit and install these by default in the Mini Marks; no more 'slightly annoyed by a flaw in an otherwise great product'-end customers is worth something, right?

Very cool. I'd like to find a 110-120 volt version. The fans on my boogies use regular voltage.

Hi,

I'm interesting in doing that replacement.

Is that still working ? No overheating at all with that mod ?

Thanks,

Antoine

In the past I have replaced 120VAC fans with a 12 volt adaptor, and a computer fan. Works great. I have been thinking about swapping out the fan in my mk v 25. It's good to know the specs are out there. You need to have at least the same CFM or you can run into trouble.

Yep still working, still silent.

@ Guitarguy LP; this specific Nanoxia fan indeed matched the specific CFM of the Mesa's own fan (14-15 CFM).

Cool, other than voltage the cfm is the most important to match, or have a higher value. When I changed the fan on a peavey classic 50/50 I couldn't find a computer fan with a cfm as low as the 120 VAC fan that was in it. So I had better cooling with so much less noise. I have always wondered why companies don't use good quality quiet fans.

Great solution.. As a bedroom player I was so annoyed with the sound of the fan.. and this worked like a charm.. thanks ???

@Fundeep glad it's working. :thumbsup:
Did you use the Nanoxia or a similar specced fan from a different supplier?
