BLOOMINGTON, Minn. — Minnesota Senator Justin Eichorn was charged Wednesday with soliciting underage prostitution, but his charges are just the first that will emerge from Bloomington police's sting operation.
On Friday, the Bloomington Police Department (BPD) announced they arrested 14 adult men for soliciting minors for sex. Undercover officers began communicating with people attempting to solicit minors for sex on March 12, according to the press release.
According to the BPD's release, all 14 men communicated with people they believed to be 17 years old. The BPD will hold a press conference on Monday at 9:30 a.m. to share more information on the sting operation and arrests.
So far, eight additional men have been charged with attempted solicitation of a minor for prostitution: David James Salmonsen, Anthony Steven Lee Mais, Adam Lee Dawson, Mohamed Ahmed Hussein, Rolando Konah Barclay, Forest Leandrew McElroy, Marawan Adel Taweeleh, and Scott Gerard Kopetsky.
As for Eichorn, he submitted his letter of resignation to the Senate as he faces federal charges for solicitation of a minor.
