Retubed my JSX

Put JJ 6L6GC's in for the power tubes
V1 Tung Sol 12ax7
V2 JJ EC883s
V3 Chinese 9th Gen 12ax7
V4 phase inverter Electro Harmonix 12ax7

I must say it's an interesting combination....I much prefer the 6L6's in the JSX over the EL34's...JSX is a very mid heavy amp and the 6L6's tame the mids and give the low end a little more thump..i'm gonna play around with the preamp tubes etc...and try different ones in different slots...so far so good

the XXX comes with 6L6's....JSX comes with EL34

Ive been bouncing back and forth with the 34 6l6 thing....i liked the 6l6's before, then had some issues with the amp and went back to 34's. Now I put the 6l6's back in, and wasnt sure I liked it.

how do you have your bias knob turned? I turned my all the way ccw and i think thats what I didnt like, seemed to be too hot...
