Returned a guitar

I was psyched and preordered a pink evh 5150 guitar. It looks awesome in person, but it has this ergonomic flaw- the pickup switch is mounted just above the neck, near the 21st fret. It kept getting in my way and rather than drilling holes in my new guitar, and relocating the switch, I sent it back.

has anything similar happened to you? You get a new piece of gear and it has some ergonomic flaw that makes it hard for you to play?

fwiw, the rest of the guitar was awesome! Great neck and fretwork.

On a FB group? I was confused AF. I’ve got the same EVH Rocket red (to me is neon orange). The toggle is on the bottom Horn which is supposed to be out of the way?? But if it’s in ya way, it’s in ya way.
I’ve seen guys mod’n these with kill switches and stuff.
And yea I agree good guitar!

It's right where my fingers go when I roll off the volume. I hate that.

The only knob/switch issues I've ever had is with Strats. I end up turning the volume knob down unintentionally while playing
cause it's so close to the strings.
I won't call it a flaw cause it's my problem, not the guitar's.

Same with the OP. Not a flaw, just not your preference.

Always hated the volume knob close to the bridge, I feel your pain.

I have had to mod all Strats and some Charvels.
