Something profound happened to me recently. My dad was a touring musician in the 70's. He toured the USA and I was kinda there...My mother was pregnant with me. He met a guy called Tommy Walker (another drummer) while recording and touring as they moved in the same circles. They became really good friends. They had so much in common, my mother mistook Tommy's writing book as my dads because their writing and lyrics were so similar.
When my dad had to return back to the UK, he gave Tommy his writing guitar as a gift.
Fast forward 43 years: Tommy came to my house and gave me the guitar. A 57 Fender musicmaster. My dad died a decade ago which hit me really hard, so to get his guitar from his heyday is just amazing. Like a time capsule.
