One of my friends has a Rev C recto - serial 258

Potentially may be on the market and trying to get a fair gauge of what it could be worth?

What's a rough serious price these would go for these days?

Mannnn they are so all over the place. I don’t even think one has been on reverb in years has it? I could be wrong, but maybe not. Either way, the recto lineage is every bit as relevant I believe as the Marshall plexi, if maybe even more so. What does a first year JTM45 go for from Marshall? A ton. Point is, these are only going to get more expensive, and I would bet it’s a solid investment in the guitar world as far as value going up, probably for years to come.

My buddy just sold his rev F for 4500. It was also the last one made according to serial numbers, but I don’t even think he added that part into the sale to “boost” the value of it. Honestly, as crazy as it sounds, you are looking at 6-8k I believe right now. Maybe more, maybe alittle less. If I had to guess which one, I’d guess maybe more/on the higher side. Wouldn’t be surprised to see someone ask 10k in the least quite honestly. Whether it’s worth it to someone, who knows.

I sold one preCovid for $4k I think. Prices went bonkers for a moment but things have settled down a bit. You could ask $6-7k and might get it if you can be patient to find the right buyer. I think it would sell within days between $4-5k.

Yep. You sold it me… still have it. One of my favorites

Shoot I thought this wave was about over. The ones that get listed at 4500-5500 on reverb seem like they’re sitting for quite a while now. People starting to lower a bit.
The Fs, there’s 23-2400 of them out there. Cs? 270 or so. And, I hate to drive the market more, but there are noticeable differences between early Cs and later Cs. We had a small amp fest in Chi and the one I sold Jeff (#40 ish) sounded pretty different than another one, in the 200s that wasn’t there but the owner was shocked at how different it sounded from his. For the better.
Tighter, bigger, just better. He had a D and his later C sounded closer to the D than to my old C.

True it is much rarer. And I’m sure it absolutely kills. Always just depends what someone is willing to pay!

Uff, 4.5k is quite a bit for a F. I actually would consider selling one of mine for that price

Maybe your C was some kind of "anomaly" or it was custom tailored for an artist? I heard that the first 100 or so Rectos all went to artists when they were first launched.
I remember seeing R-0028 in my country for sale years ago, and long before all the Revison craze started for 2.2k

Not sure; I got it from Gjo here. I didn’t hear the actual comparison, but Sam has the higher No version and swore it was a noticeable difference from his.

I think the old ones, like the C+, are all just a little different as they've aged. That one in the 40s was as good if not better than a good C+ in many ways.

I know of two Rev F triple chrome / blackface currently for sale for ~$3600. Not telling because I'm considering one. :)

The market has cooled this year with interest rates on the rise, as to be expected..

I do know that Castor Hetfield has R00010. He gigs it with his band.

Rev F are in the 4500 range. It’s why I removed my WTB thread because that’s just too rich for my blood for what I want to spend in this current market, let alone what rev C prices are going for. I’d rather just build my own rev C clone with a third of that in parts and call it a day.

I really think if one was posted on reverb in the 7-8k range in good condition it would be gone that day. There hasn’t been one on reverb for 3 years to test that theory, but the way those things took off, I’d bet someone would get that, no problem.

I wouldn’t personally, but I agree that is definitely on the higher side right now. Inflation I think is reallyyyyy catching up to people I think, and they aren’t selling like they used to.

You could always grab a G triple, for 2K or even less and do the super simple C mods to it.
