REV C Recto Pricing Help

The Rev G Triple I had Mike mod to C specs has Schumacher trannies, and it’s a destroyer of worlds.
Blake now owns it and loves it. I actually kept that one over a Rev D that I had that was a great one as well.
I only sold it to buy C #41 from Tom, who cut me a really nice deal. If I ever sell it he’s getting half the profit. Lol
#41 is a pretty jawdropping amp for sure. It’s the tightest, most aggressive Recto I’ve ever heard, with a feel that’s bouncier than a C+.

Don’t the multi watts have Schumacher trannies?

Were these the mods documented in the 30 page boogie board thread? I was always wondering, how accurate they are and if Mike B. does his RevC mod that way?

I’m pretty sure Mike doesn’t even do all the things that are mentioned in the thread on boogie board. Pretty simple mods actually

I think, they were all Schumacher trannies to a certain point but just different ones. There was a supplier change during the coof and they are now produced in Mexico AFAIK. Some people say, Classic Tone was their supplier before that change. Mine says "made in USA" and is from 2012.

Yes; and I avoided swapping resistor/cap values as I just don't trust myself trying to work on that cramped space/board. All I did was, change the gain/presence pots to higher values; bypassed 1 LDR, and jumped 3-4 resistors. I think there were 3 other parts that needed to be changed out but I didn't do those.
If you read the thread guys are confirming certain things as they have C Rectos during that time. Those mods did change the Red for the better, made it closer to the Orange tone...and the Orange got even better.
Mike only charged like 180 for this mod so I'd imagine it's a pretty simple one, which it seems to be especially since I can pull it off :ROFLMAO:

Would be nice is one of the RT gets hold of an RevC to confirm the mods in the BB thread

He’s doing them again… for now. Doesn’t sound like much longer. Have a iic+ getting ++ treatment right now.
 
Does anybody know, how to get in contact with Mike B. directly? Or just use the Mesa support service?

Call Mesa customer service; one of the Reps will call you back if you don't get in touch. They will get you to one of the techs IF they still do the mods...if Mike does them he will probably call you back. Although, these days another tech may do them? If that's the case it's under Mike Bs supervision I'm sure.
I've had Mike do a C-C+ upgrade for me, twice, and each time he called me back to discuss it; this was 4 years ago and earlier. Super cool guy. Next thing you know it's been 45 minutes as you talk with him lol....But he's been doing this since the early 70s so I don't know if he's still working much anymore.

Another tech does non-vintage amplifiers and repairs. Mike B. said he’s only doing vintage amp mods now which is why he’s interested in working on badass stuff again.

As soon as he retires full stop and won’t touch anything anymore, the stuff he has touched should maintain value well since there will be a limited number of mods done by him that are quality.

Ah, still have it saved -- sorry, $3950. I'm based in Japan so I was converting from yen in my head. The yen sucks so it's still a super expensive proposition for me, but I was begging my UK friend to nab it each night before I went to sleep, woke up and checked it first thing, still there! still there! Then finally gone.

A friend of mine just sent his III Coli in for the ++ mod and he was told 2-3 months.

So does a RevC mod already count as vintage???
