So now reverb lets trolls message you who have no account history or account period..maybe its been this way forever and i fortunately was never harrassed by trolls. Acount is deleted. Shity policy,.if you dont have an account or profile messaging and trolling should be something that sellers are not subjected to. Some pathetic shit , good luck.

i would have left them a note in the suggestion box

How is that possible? Thought you needed an account to send messages?

I have been selling on reverb since they started and I have never had this happen.

This has been discussed before on here. Reverb has bots that look for keywords in messages and then flag them. This is so people can't message one another and do the sale outside of Reverb after having found the sale on Reverb. Reverb provided the platform for the sale and wants to get paid for their services.

No idea what you said in your messages to get flagged. Mind sharing?

He's saying somebody contacted him, who didn't have a reverb account.. Am I missing something?? How's somebody contacting him through messaging who isn't set up through Reverb, shenanigans aside....

Is it really through Reverb are a scammer outside of Reverb sending one of those mass emails that look official.

I don't know if anybody bothers for Reverb, but I sure have gotten a bunch of them trying to get me to click on something for my ebay and/or paypal account lately.

I just signed out of my account and tried to message someone - when you do, it prompts you to sign in, or sign up for an account. Same if you try to make an offer. What are you even talking about?

News to me. No mystery, i asked reverb and it was confirmed so i closed out. Dude messaged me with some bs to say the least. Normally i am able to view the person for piece of mind if nothing else. The account/user was blacked out so i was unable to see who the troll was, where he may be located purchase history etc. So i messaged reverb and asked. Was told people do not need a shop* is what reverb calls it, i say an account to send messages to listings. to make offers or post listings then they have to have a shop/account. So this means some troll can message you and he or they have zero history selling or buying and may never intend to. Simply put.. a TROL surfs, sends messages and could be 12 years old or a who knows what. It seems its reverbs way of dangeling sellers items or users listings to get them to go a step further and create an account. Personally i have no interest in being messaged by someone with no history or being able to see if they even live on planet earth. Its not for everyone , just not me. It seems its been this way with reverb ive just been lucky. Every time i have been mesaaged by someone i was indeed able to click the person and see any activity they have had weather it be 100 sales or 0 sales or listings. According to reverb until you buy or sell you can message all you want no account or shop is needed" internet date site or troll lobby is what i see it as.. so bye shitverb!

Doesn't tell us anything - WHAT HAPPENED??

User messages me.. i click on his profile or his whatever name, it is blacked out. Unable to see his history of anytype. Contacted reverb and as explained in the previous post" it is very clearly explained what happened" i explained it so dont know what your not reading..

They only need an account to buy or sell... this is what happened this^^^^^^ this^^^^^this^^^^^ i hope it is easy to understand now.. 1 more x. This^^^^ being contacted by anyone no account needed on reverb.. this^^^this^^^.. i sure hope its clear now wtf happened

Wouldnt disagree as it always ask me to.log in too. Just as you mentioned..maybe reverb is in your registry and mine as well once you click the agree to the terms* i thought the same..had to be logged in to contact a listing* not the case as explained from reverb. Nor is an account needed to send a message it was explained to.me by R

This doesn't make any sense. What if a non-troll who didn't have an account legitimately messaged you? How could you even reply? It seems like something is being lost in translation here. Can anyone else figure out how to even send a message without an account?

Hi,

Has this user messaged you or behaved in any way that is suspect? I'd be happy to review their account, however a new user sending you messages is not a reason to be concerned. As the site grows, so will the number of new users- until they purchase items, they will remain new users. It speaks nothing to the validity of their inquiries or their intentions. We wish to be a welcoming community to all, and will continue to have new members using the site who may not have feedback or have set up a selling/ shop profile yet.

If you have ongoing issues with an order, please send me the order numbers and I'll be happy to reach out to the agents working on those for an update!

Rest assured, your personal info is secure and if there is anything I can clarify on that end, absolutely let me know.

Thanks.

Best,

--

The part where it says new user who has not set up an account/ selling profile/shop yet/.
Hope this helps. I never had any concerns until this. Maybe i shouldn't, regardless. I personally prefer to be contacted by someone with a history/profile/shop or how is it legit and not bs??

Thanks for clearing that up. Like we've all been saying, you have to be a member. If we're just talking about a profile (which isn't the same thing as someone who doesn't have an account), who cares? I've been a member there for going on 4 years and have lots of feedback, and have never made a profile. Doesn't mean you have to sell to a new member if you're not comfortable with it, but saying you can message someone without being a member isn't accurate.

Well he wasnt and isn as i have been saying and like it is explained. New memebers can send messages without a registered account. Or.maybe younread it as a new memeber is now a regestered member. I do not read it that way and if it were the case i would have been able to highlight his user name with the mouse and click on it and see his listings or at.least his location. I was not able to so i asked reverb.. that is what i posted. Done and thanks.. before yesterday this had never happened. Id never been contacted and not been able to see who contacted.me by clicking on the user name who sent the message. This one was blacked out and he sent 6 messages. Maybe my mouse just.prefered not to click on his name and thats what it was.(sarcasm) i dont dig it as i have been saying all along ***
