Had to opportunity to get some time with the G20 from Revv. Pretty damn cool amp. Not going to lie, I AM a fan of Revv's stuff. The Gen120 is SUPER high on my GAS list, so I was glad to have this guy in hand for a bit.

The built in Two Notes load/cab functionality is great. I went for a bit different set of tones than some of the other demos out there and there are 2 full mix vids coming. One is in the style of a Dokken Tooth/Under Lock era and the other is kind of a modern hard rock thing with my Les Paul.

A lot of folks seem to want to push this into modern type tones but I think it kills for rock. As a matter of fact, I need to offer my services to Revv to make some non-metal demos! LOL!

Editing the full mix vids now. They'll be up soon.

I'm glad you're not going to lie. Aggressive amp for sure, very nice.

Yeah, no BS here! I am pretty good about being up front. I definitely am a big fan of the Revv amps. I think they make really versatile stuff. I also don't see a lot of guys demoing their stuff getting the tones I like. I like stuff from Dokken and Ratt to Anthrax and Testament. There just doesn't seem to be many videos across many amp brands catering to "my" type of tones.

Sounds great. Thanks for the demo. Wish Revv would make their other amps a little more easily available.

Cool demo!
Interesting product, were it not that I already have a Torpedo Live and a few nice and versatile lunchbox amps.

Btw, was that last line in the video a subtle dig at certain other recently discussed YTers, who seem less able to handle criticism? :D

Thanks bud. Yeah I am hoping the big amps start getting on to Sweetwater's site. There was a very cool Modded British inspired prototype at NAMM that seems promising. Seems I'd be the PERFECT candidate to demo it! LOL!

Ha! No, at least not intentionally! I started using that line a few vids ago. Apparently, comments are what helps videos pop up to the top in the YouTube recommended list so I am trying to encourage people to provide feedback. But I sand by it... I have no issue with someone thinking my tone/technique/etc is shit... because I know they're obviously wrong! LOL! (Obviously that ws sarcasm)

I miss my Generator! Amazing amps. I'll get another Revv one day.

Why do I not recall you having one? I know they just released the Purple channel for the Helix today via FW update and the red channel was already in there. Still with that, I want that Gen120.

Awesome demo  Does access to the 128 cab presets come with the G20 or is there an additional purchase required?

Glad you dug it. It comes with the 3 Revv cabs. There are 128 spots. I have a huge library of cabs which is what you see there. If you register Wall of Sound, you'll get 8 more cabs, plus Two Notes gave out 3 new ones for free this week. You can buy cabs in blocks of 8 which lowers the price per cab quite nicely.

With the included Revv cabs with all the mic options, plus the free 8 for registering WoS, I would be hard pressed to believe you'd NEED anything else. Their cabs and mics are pretty versatile and I prefer them infinitely to static IR's. The standard cab in the blank "User" spot is fan-friggin'-tastic.

I really need to do a comprehensive vid on the Torpedo stuff...

I had it for about a year. I was in a $ crunch and needed to say goodbye. I use the Kemper 99% of the time, so it made sense...I use the Revv profiles for almost everything. Almost mix-ready tones! I'll be sure to check out all your vids on this lunchbox Revv

I know them feels for sure man.

So how do you have this connected ? ... Do you use the XLR out or the speaker out into an interface ? Sorry if you mentioned it in the video I skipped ahead here and there. I own a Revv 100P head which I love . Im considering grabbing a G20 but Im not sure if its worth it for me. I bought some STL and Neural amp plugins recently that sound great for playing through my comp and studio monitors. Point being is do you find that using and amp like this in your Daw sounds better than the high quality plugging that are out ? Obviously the IR's are a separate thing so Im not really talking about that aspect, I have some IR's I like. Anyways thanks for the doing the demo , sounds great !

Yeah this is connected via the XLR on the back of the amp out to my interface. I really dig how it sounds for sure. I have a few of the Neural plug ins and yeah they’re great as well. I think this is a no brainer if you gig and want to be able to run direct with consistent sound AND get that sound when recording. I prefer my amps and the Torpedo Studio over plug ins any day.

Glad you dig the demo. Thanks for checking it out.

Thanks Jer. Their website is a little confusing - is WoS something you have to buy or does it come with the unit and you just register it - then purchase packs as you want?

Wall of Sound is a free download. Just pick your operating system. Once you install it create a user account and they’ll add the 8 free cabs. I’ll see if I can find a link to the new free ones they added over the last few months.

Sounds great man! Played it through a cab in the room yet? Wondering how it compares volume wise to the JJ Jr.

I'll say this - with all the options out there with virtual amplification, it is an AWESOME time to be a guitar player! Great demo!

Thanks bud! Yeah I tried it through all my cabs. I really liked it with my K100's and Redbacks. It's got some volume for sure. Lots of bottom end.

Oh man you aren't kidding. Not only do the amps sound great, they are so damn versatile. Extremely convenient. My 15 year old self would never have believed me if you told me!

Interested to see if Revv includes the Two Notes option in their big box amps going forward...
