NICE FIND MAN!!! I LOVE RIOT!

I was just playing along with Altar, Swords, No Lies, Outlaw, Promised Land, Born In America, and Wings of Fire a few days ago.

I've been wanting to get an old school 80s metal tribute band going for some time and Riot is always at or near the top of the list of bands I want to cover. Other bands include Warrior, Armored Saint, Maiden, Priest, White Wolf, Accept, Savatage, Dio, Fates Warning, Saxon, Killer Dwarfs, Krokus, Kingdom Come, Leatherwolf, Loudness, Queensryche, WASP, etc.

I've wanted to start a RIOT tribute band for a few years now but havent been able to find all the pieces. Even thought of mixing in some Moxy, Budgie, Legs Diamond, and UFO covers with the RIOT tunes to entice others.
So far I havent been able to get all the pieces together....maybe one day it'll happen.

I really dig the first Killer Dwarfs album. I saw them open for Accept at the Majestic Theater here in town back in the day. Also saw the Killer Dwarfs headline a show at the Laurel Theater.
The GodFather would play them on the radio a lot back in the day.

Very cool man. It's too bad we live so far apart (I'm in MT).

The Dwarfs were great. Forgot about UFO... that would be great to do as well. I would probably throw some old Scorps into my project as well. Sails of Charon... shyeah!!!

Seriously... I just looked at my list of prospective bands to cover and it really hit me... the [old school] metal scene was just EXPLODING for the first half of the 80s. What the hell happened? Most of the stuff that's come-out in the last 25 years has been completely lack-luster and forgettable for me. I guess I'm gettin' old... :aww:

Holy fuck dude, you are like the first person I've ever heard rattle off pretty much my favorite 70's bands (Scorps was a good call too Red_label, maybe some Starz as well?)...that would be a most excellent tribute band

Love love love RIOT. Still listen to them regularly.

You forgot RIP Rhett Forrester!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the original guitar player for the Dwarfs (I suddenly forgot his name) used to have a music store in Whitby Ontario called Guitarzan. I used to hang out there a bit back in mid to late 80's.

Damn... him too??? Geesh... everyone's dying. :(

I must REALLY be getting OLD!

Hes been gone a long time, I think before Guy even. Was shot in the chest during a car jacking. He drove on another block or so I believe.

Dayum... RIP Rhett. :(

As a concealed carry permit holder, any would-be car-jackers will be having a bad day if they come looking to jack mine. ;)

That was F@#kn Great! Thanks for posting. I remember playing my Riot cassettes until they gave out

Love shit like this. Gotta dig the drummer playing traditional on the snare.

Love Riot! I never got into the stuff prior to Tony Moore. Saw them on the Privilege of Power tour and they KILLED it!!!!
