Love him or hate him (there didn't seem to be much middle ground), its sad to see him go at his age.

I don't think he ever said he built that guitar. He said it was a J Frog, which I think is true.

Well he says"we built it" It's under the category of
"people with Ed Roman guitars" and has a photo of Lynch with the guitar from the cover of
GFTPM. and underneath it says-
George Lynch With Ed Roman J Frog Guitar. THIS IS NOT AN ESP GUITAR ESP PUT A DECAL ON THE GUITAR JUST LIKE THEY DID WITH GEORGES KRAMER SKULL WITH THE ROSE IN IT'S TEETH. These guitars are still available on my J. Frog page of the Ed Roman Website. The ones we are building today are made to a much higher quality standard than even the original ones we built for George Lynch.
The original was in fact a custom one-off built by John Garcia (J Frog...well before Ed Roman bought the name) that was hanging in the LA Hard Rock by the late 80's right beside Sammy Hagar's red Kramer Baretta from the 5150 tour. The issue he had with it was the "cutaway"...you really couldn't get your hand in there well enough to comfortably play on the upper frets.snowdog":1udqtyql said:BrokenFusion":1udqtyql said:Schaf":1udqtyql said:BrokenFusion":1udqtyql said:I was looking at his site and saw he claims that he built the George Lynch carved skulls guitar and ESP slapped a logo on it. I just read an interview with Lynch the other day about that skull guitar and he said it was hand made by his friend J Frog (not sure if he was affiliated with Roman's shop at the time but I'm guessing no). George also said that guitar did not play very well or wasn't very comfortable to play. The original (as seen in the Dream Warriors video with the ESP logo on it, since he had a deal with them..even though it wasn't made by therm...) now resides at some Hard Rock Cafe or another.
He went on to say that ESP did make a super limited run of 10 or 12 (I believe)of the carved Skull model that played considerably better....one of which Lynch still owns.
