Wow that is so sad. I'm shocked. He was a beast of a player, really inspiring :( Friday Night in SF album still blows me away..

:( Hugely sad about this. Amazingly talented, super-emotional and inspiring player. Far too young.

I'll never forget the impact that the Paco de Lucia/John McLaughlin/Al DiMeola disc had on me as a youngster....RIP Paco. It's not the end, just the beginning.

absolutely, RIP

Damn. I saw him on the reunion tour with John and Al. I went into the show loving Al and came out loving Paco. The fact that he played everything as fast as the other two, but with his fingers blew my mind at the time. His solo piece really stood out though. That sucks.

The absolute master. Descansa en Paz, Maestro.

I saw him about 6 months ago, and it was the most awe inspiring performance I have ever witnessed. He achieved something above greatness.

We have already way lost too many talented people too soon already this year. Prayers for Paco's friends and family.

so sad

thank God i got to see him with the super trio at the Waikiki shell with steve morse opening for them and jamming with them for the encore.

friday night in san francisco shaped what the possibilities were for me
