On 9 July 2011, Tim Butcher, Motörhead leader Lemmy's longtime bass technician, reported that Würzel has died. The cause of death was ventricular fibrillation and was triggered by cardiomyopathy. Before he died, Würzel was working on new material with his new band, Leader of Down, who had previously announced the release of their debut single for early 2010.

RIP. Loved that lineup. 1916 might be Motorhead's last "great" record.

Killed By Death...........at last

aw man. :( i always liked his playing.

1916 rules, but if you've never heard Bastards, definitely check it out. they came back with a vengence.

I have everything up to and including Bastards. It is good but 1916 has a raw feel to it that trumps Bastards for me. After Bastards it's never been as good IMO.

Orgasmatron w/Wurzel is probably my second favorite from Motorhead after Ace Of Spades.

I just bought rock n roll deluxe off itunes yesterday cuz i wanted to reiscover his contributions to the band"

Sad day indeed.

that sucks, wurzel was a nice fit in the band, its not easy filling eddie clarkes shoes but he did his own thing. Rock N Roll is a great album and has some great tunes especially the song Rocknroll.
