Hello RT,

My buddy found a very clean Rivera Pubster 25 combo that he got for like $600 shipped to his door.

He has played and heard my Rivera Clubster Royale and decided to check out the Pubster.

First off, he got this used from a GC and it was actually packed very well for shipment.

I was afraid it would come busted up.

Rivera amps are built like tanks but I have seen shipping absolutely wreck some gear.

Amp looks damn near new. The combo has a 10" speaker in it. Looks like someone swapped the T75 for an Eminence Ramrod.

I was fearing that 10" just would not be able to handle the Rivera power lol

That little thing sounds HUGE.

I was goofing around on it for an hour or so and was just having a blast.

The Ramrod has a vintage/British tinge to my ears and seems to work well with the amp.

The controls are a lot of fun on it.

Has a boost built in that has its own master volume.

Pretty damn dynamic, just like mine in that I can have it on some searing lead tones and soften up picking or use my fingers and it cleans up.

He is really stoked to have his own Rivera after experiencing mine for several years now.

It definitely sounds different than mine in several ways but it still has that distinct, core sound.

He feels like he got a lot of amp for the money, and I do too.

Sometimes GC does well on shipping, or we were lucky, either way, it's been a great NAD for him.

I've never played a Pubster, but I'm not surprised at all. I've never played a Rivera I didn't like. I have a Knucklehead II, which has been my main practice/gigging amp for years, and I just got a Thirty Twelve combo that I'm absolutely in love with.

I need to see what tubes are in the preamp

I paired my Rivera with Avatar AV75 speakers and run RCA long blackplate 12ax7 in all positions. Outputs I am running 6v6 RCAs but others are nice as well. It absolutely sings and screams!

He almost grabbed a 30/12 a few months back but backed out for whatever reason. He seems really happy with the Pubster, so I think it worked out for the best in his case.
