Since I don't want to use anymore static Impulse Responses I would like to know your opinion on the subject here.
I've read that the Acustica Audio Nebula is the next step in Cab Modelling since it reacts more dinamically.
I wasn't able to try them because the commercial programs need the full version of the software that costs if I'm correct 79 Euro.
On the other hand there is the Isocab way, and I've read great reviews and heard amazing samples of the Rivera Silent Sister.
I've had the chance to play with a Knucklehead Reverb 100 some time ago, and its construction is top notch, so I'm pretty sure that their Isocab is builded with the same quality.

The thing is that here in Europe these are really pricey. I wasn't able to find one under the 1000 Euro.
Plus I would like to change the speaker for a Celestion V30, and buy a couple of mics.
1300-1400 Euro. It's a lot of money... (I already have an Apogee Duet 2 and its Mic Pre are more than enough at the moment for me).

So Amp+Loadbox+Nebula Impulses or the Isocab?
Have you tried them? What are your toughts?

My sig has tonnes of clips with the Rivera silent sister

Go with the Rivera. You can then use it as your loadbox and use a DI to kick that signal to the DAW and use whatever convolution plug in you want....or just use it designed.

ISO cabs can be boxy sounding, but still sound pretty good. In the end, a miced cab is going to sound better than a cab sim. You may find that mixing them gives you a world of options though. Go with the Rivera.

Thanks guys, I think that I will go to the isobox route just to be safe.
Fuzzyguitars, do you noticed drastic changes in EQ and mic positioning compared to recording a real cabinet?
And also, I've noticed that you have a Diezel Herbert. Is it safe to record with the silent sister in full power or do you use some kind of attenuator before hitting the isobox?

By the way I really like your clips and the ones in this post:

i had a different Isobox at one time and did have to use drastically different mic positioning in order to get usable sounds.

but with the silent sister it behaves and sounds so much more like a standard open cab setup.

of course i play higher gain and generally use dynamics mics anyways. so iso cab is great.

if you like cleans and semi clean tones, then i would use a ribbon to pick up more of the room sound and the silent sister wont help you there.

that being said, reverbs and panning etc can do wonders to close miced sounds.

I feel that the master volume on the Herbert works great, and I just turn it up to where it sounds good but is not killing, so no attenuator
