I've sent Ron and email with a link to this thread. Hopefully he'll pop in today to set everything straight
Cheers,
Mike

i contacted him some days ago to ask the same thing. here's what he said to me:

"Basically, the mod makes the phase invert switch at the same time as the A output. So, you still have A and B outputs, but when you switch the A output, the B output changes phase. This is the reason that I tell people that the A output doesn't work anymore - it's not really useful at that point.

This is the best we could do for a simple mod. To be able to switch A, B and phase inversion on B via MIDI would require a redesign of the circuit."

Damn, I wish I had spoken to Ron, it clear i would have ben told exactly what it does by your post. Had Sheri told me any of this i would not have bought itor then paid to have it shipped and modded. You live and you learn.

I guess the third splitters gonna have to be the charm this time around.

if you have enough space you could just buy a lehle splitter after the A output to mute it when you need it ;)

in this way you could even add a third selectable amp!

See the thing is I have the lehle already! I bought the lehle 1@3 hastily and then realized it didn't have switchable phase inversion. Then I bought this one which stil wont suit my needs.

Def not going to use both even though your idea would work.

Hi everyone,

The popularity of this mod has caught me a little off guard. The first person that requested the mod had an RG-16, and he could live with the limitations of the mod - the RG-16 could do the A/B switching part. At the time, it was the best I thought we could do without redesigning the product.

The great news is, after a lot of thinking and head bashing , I figured out a way to make the mod a lot better. With the new mod, the Y-Not will retain all of its A/B/Y functionality and be able to invert the B output phase under MIDI control.

The Invert B button will be removed, but the A button will keep its normal function. The B button will now cycle between off, on, and on/invert each time you push it. The B light will blink when it's inverted.

Anyone who has a previously modded Y-Not can send it back for the new and improved mod for free (I'll just ask for return shipping costs if you're not in the US). Existing Y-Not owners can get theirs modded for $25 + shipping.

Any new Y-Nots ordered from this point on will have the new mod installed if you request it in the shopping cart. It's still a mod and not a standard feature.

Thanks and please let me know if you have any questions!

great to hear about that!!!

Wow I just got a call from Sheri at rjm and an email from Ron . They are going to pay to have my unit shipped back to them to mod it to the current spec for me and ship it back all for free just because they want to see me happy and also because I brought this issue to their attention .

Most excellent customer service and an end result of exactly what I ned at all reasonable prices. Class act all around!

Shit, I guess I jumped the gun on this one.  Oh, well. I will play it for a week and see if I can live with the mod as is. If not I will send it back your way for the mods mod.......or something like that. :D

Thank you for the great service Ron.

I find this thread three days after I just bought a y-not. damn!
