I know this isn't the normal genre that's played around here but this is an amazing performance by any standard. It makes the hair on my arms stand up. This is how blues is supposed to be played. The guy's a total master of dynamics.

Right before he became recognize in the 80's he was doing a gig on 1st here in Seattle ..... I sat 3 feet from him and watched him play for hours. I also spent some that day talking with him on his breaks ..... very nice person. Great player....

Love his playing. Always surprised he isn't more popular.

I bought that crossroads set a couple of years ago and that tune blows me away everytime I see it!! Cray is phenomenal...just amazing. Extremely underated guitarplayer and singer..doesn't get more soulfull than that brother :worship:
Check out the 1st to 6th fret stretch...

 Really no.There are many great blues guitarists out there..Looks like a nice guy,though...

I love him!! He's among the best blues players out there. A lot of feeling in his playing!

I saw him live back in the late 90's three times. He destroyed me every single time. The guy is a master. If you see him live and want to argue with me about it, I will listen but I will not be conviced of anything other than master status.

Ooh,no !It's a long story.I have known R.Cray since...ok,a loong time and i never liked his playing/tone.I really am surprised you guys love him so much..It's a mystery to me  I could explain why but it wouldn't be popular...so,"to each his own",i guess. :) And my guitars stay right here ;) !

I have enjoyed listening to him since his early days....
