Someone is coming to buy my Rockerverb 50 tomorrow so i've started planning on another amp.
Right now i'm tossing around the idea of a H&K Trilogy or a Laney Ironheart. I love having 3+ channels.
Anybody have experience with these 2?

I gotta say, I have heard some amazing opinions of those Ironheart amps.

The ironheart series is fucking great, especially for the price.

I've played the trilogy, but didn't think it sounded anywhere as good as just getting a mark I or mark II triamp or duotone, which is around the same price used

Not to give you optional paralysis but used, Peavey JS or Triple X amps might be worth looking into, depending what you want to do with them of course as they are definitely hard rock/metal amps.

I just wish I could hear someone play blues on a Laney LA30BL but all the demos are Iommi fanboys so ordering one would be a total crapshoot. I've been eyeballing that sucker for a year and a half now.

I've actually been very curious about them and still find the demo's not setting the amp like I would even in a rock context. Usually they leave the EQ at noon and only move the volume up and down which drives me nuts for vintage circuits. Considering on these, pre metal panel Marshalls and a lot of Fenders, if you want to rock or play tight aggressive blues with a Gibson you kill the bass and raise everything else. Can't stand their lying, I love what I'm hearing expressions, when they play the most washed out and flubby tones because they don't turn the bass down or raise the top end.

Agreed and true that on killing the bass with a Gibson. I dime the treble on the Twin and mids and bass are all the way down. Most of the LA30 demos sound like Tony Iommi but with a blanket over the speakers which seems on par with the average bedroom tone that usually has too much bass for live work. It seems like the amp has a lot more potential than what is being displayed and used prices are very fair IMO so maybe some day....

I had a XXX many moons ago when they first came out. Killer amp!
