I put together a little demo of my Rockman Chorus / Delay. If you are into analog guitar gear, you might like it.

Best,

Welcome to 1984'.... good effort tho.

I've had ADA/Rockmaster preamp/power amp rack rigs, rockmans, modular systems but all i'll ever need or want is a good head/cab and a few pedals.

Tom Scholz is a MIT grad and a genius.

The sustaining Marshalls on "Don't look Back" is one reason I started playing guitar.

I didn't know in the 70's how he was doing it but I had to have that sound, same with Angus Young and Randy Rhoads and EVH and ...

If you were to tell me in the 80's I could have had the complete line of Rockman modular gear if I cut off one arm you'd be looking at a one arm man.

Ive spent hours and hours with a Rockman and it never gets old.

Boston is out on the road right now. Their web sites says they are playing Houston tonight. Tom Scholz's performance with his gear may be a lot more interesting than mine ;)

You really have to keep the dry and processed signals separate, otherwise things sound cheesy really quick.

I noticed that when the unit was switched from 'Wide' to 'Normal', then 'Equal' and 'Subtle', that the tone's register seemed to rise. I think the processed and dry signals partly phase cancel some of the bottom end, making it a little hollow while emphasising the upper mids and treble. I think that is the "cheesy" sound often associated with this setup. It's not always just a nasal honk sound, but is in that range.

I like "Wide" myself, especially with the chorus. The normal and equal sound too "swishy" to my ear. Subtle is not quite as swishy sounding.
