Rockman Rockmodules - Flying In A Blue Dream

Pity matching the sustain of the original lead tone was so tricky, but you cleverly picked on-the-beat to "disguise" the reactivations. Well done, man.

Obviously it won't help the sustain any, but I wonder what the lead would sound like if you backed the gain off a little. The attacks are suffering in quality and this should help IMHO.

Sounded great to me. The only recording I do though is when I set my phone across the room so yours is obviously much better than that.

Only thing that grabbed my attention was the initial repeat of the delay. Seemed to pop/click a little or something like that. That is being super picky but if I had to critique, that would be it. Nice job!

I'm not a fan of Sustainor tones, but the Rockman Stereo Chorus and Stereo Delay are my all-time favorite analog devices. As a matter of fact, I stopped using my TC1210 in-favor of the Rockman chorus. I'd love to have an old DMP Tri-Chorus, but they're just too darn expensive.

Ya, more of a Rockmodules demo than a note-for-note (totally winged the solo) thing. These little plastic 1/2 rack boxes are just too freakin cool.

There is a way to bypass the "Boston" built-in, by going into the loop return.

Yep - I used both in the clip and they kick ass.

Undoubtedly Scholz modeled the Stereo Chorus after the Eventide (Tom had an H910 in his rack back in the early days)... minus the pitch control.

The Rockman SC reminds me of the old BOSS CE-1 pedal chorus. I've never played through a Eventide device.

Great job on that track. Im a big fan of that tune.
I recently scored an original Scholz X-100 Rockman that has been rufurbished with all new electrolytics.
Most mornings at 04:00 hrs you can find me doing rehearsals wtith the Rockman & guitar of my choice.
Big fan of Tom & his products as well.

Tone tip: For VH 1984 tones, get yourself a Crowther Double Hot Cake pedal, a Rockman Instrument EQ, a Rockman Stereo Chorus, and 2 x Rockman Stereo Echo units. Set one SE for slap-back, the other SE for longer repeats. Run the signal(s) into 2 x non-master volume amplifiers. I recommend 1 x Marshall Super Lead 20 + 1 x VOX AC15 Heritage. You don't really need the EQ or second delay, but they sure help.
