Picked this up yesterday locally for fun to see what its about.. it looks like it takes syx files, so I was going to load Analog kids patches on it but I cant seem to get it to accept them. I have a Intellifex and seem to recall having a little trouble getting patches on it a few years ago.. Does anyone know if the patches will work on this, or where I can get patches for it? Its actually NIB, was not used as far as I am aware..

For a plexi wet dry wet setup is it better in front of the amp or after the line out like the intellifex?

Intellifex sys files won’t work in it. Different interface, fx blocks etc. You can run it post like the Intellifex but I found it best in front of a preamp. It has some really nice fx like tremolo, phaser, flanger and an excellent rotary speaker that sound best pre preamp.

Thanks!! I agree, it sounds pretty good!! Was their any patches for this unit out there? Or an editor for the unit? I like it better than the Xpression I have.. but I dont know how to mess with making patches..

I use to run a Multivalve into the front of my '72 Super Lead + Ampeg VT22. Epic tones!

Stock patches? Any settings you recall you care to share info on ? I tried it in the front of my Mojave and I didnt like it as much as post, but it could be I dont have something set correctly?

Slightly tweaked, but I mostly used it for its Leslie effect. One of the best Leslie simulations I've ever used. Both amps were non-master volume, which is my preferred setup. If you prefer using preamp gain -> effects via loop, I'd hunt-down a Intellifex. Very transparent, very reliable.

Are you running preamp distortion after chorus, delay, and reverb effects? If so, that's not going to sound good. On the other hand, flanger, Leslie, and phase effects usually sound better when positioned before distortion. Try running the amp clean, then place a gain pedal in-front of the Multivalve.

To get the most out of that unit, you should be running a stereo rig. If you have a mixer + PA, mic the cabinet, and place the Multivalve in the mixer loop.

Ah maybe thats the problem, I have a Peacemaker with a mv/Jose master, quite modded.. no effects loop.. I use a line out box into a rane line mixer then effects then rjm mini mixer then power amp.. sounds good there but not in front of the amp.. Ill have to try running the amp clean with a pedal, never done that.. Kinda wish I had a second unmodded peacemaker..

Awesome amp! With that amp, I'd mic the cabinet with a Shure 57 -> mixer + effects -> PA. For whatever reason, I could never get a line-out box to sound as good as a mic'd cabinet.

Awesome!! Thanks.. Anyone have a Peacemaker they want to let go of? :)

I used to have one in a rack setup with my triaxis, I loved that thing. A cool effect trick is to use the tremolo, as fast as it will go and as deep. This will give you a full volume swell, but at a tempo of around 200bpm. Take your right hand and mute the neck (like Steve Vai does in legato runs) and hammer on scale passages. It ends up sounding like Yngwie doing volume swells, but at twice the speed.
