I used to have this on vinyl from the 80's. Melissa's cool but this to me is MF at their peak.

Don't get me wrong. DBTO is an amazing album with amazing songs. Something about the production and guitars bother me, but that is just the 80's. People finding their tone. To me, "Melissa" is a masterpiece. I love the barely distorted guitars and the songs "Evil" and "Satans Fall" alone just get me every time.

Either way, both of those first two albums (and "The Beginning" as well) are some of the best metal ever IMO.

Anyone ever listen to the later Brats stuff (The stuff with King singing)? Their first band together? It's pretty bad, but you see some of the beginnings of Mercyful fate songs in there.
