I was listening to some of my old TNT stuff and man does Ronni kick ass on the TNT stuff especially Knights of The New Thunder. When I heard Seven Seas on my local cable TV in 84 I was just floored. His playing was phenomenal and his tone was monstrous. I never had a chance to see him live since I was stationed in Hawaii during there Tell No Tales and Intuition LPs and hardly anyone came there!!! Ronni is still one of my fav guitarist from the 80's.

TNT is one of my favorite bands since the 80's.I always thought Ronni had a very unique style and tone. Check out TNT- Live Madrid DVD if you can, it's really good. And what's also good is that they have reformed again.

I think the 10,000 lovers riff is one of the best ever

Yep mine too!!! "Live in Madrid" is great and I hope the newly refromed TNT with Tony sounds just as good as the "My Religion" stuff!

Love TNT! Ronnie is an amazing player. Just saw this vid and man Harnell still sounds boss!

I don't know... Unique? YES, great tone? YES, cool rythm playing? YES.. But the lead work? He has some flashes of brilliance but some really dodgy timing and phrasing. Sometimes it sounds like he is just alternate picking as fast as he can random patterns. That always killed it for me.

Kinda agree. The recorded stuff is KILLER. Absolutely original.

I've seen live clips and the lead playing never seemed to translate live. For me at least. :aww:

Seeing the live stuff really bummed me out because I always thought he was magic.

Damn Dan that 10,000 lovers riff was spot on! I would never of guessed a flanger was used. Must be barely cracked?

It's the trick he used with the Boss Flanger. I'm trying to remember now.......I think it was Depth, Rate,Res off and manual all the way up. When I got a Strymon Mobius I got rid of most of my pedals but gotta keep the Boss Flanger because I'm not sure anything works like it for this trick. Try it and you'll hear it instantly.

Yeah I bought a BF-2 to mess around with this but ultimately traded it for a DE-7.. does that tone spot on! But after a while those nasally mids fatigued my ear. I still think it is like a VERY poor man's PQ-3 if you really want those mids to pop. I think the first knob is to taste and the others are all off.

"My Religion" is a solid CD!!

For my money, this was one of the most solid cds they ever put out front to back.
