I think that this is easily one of the best ibanez guitars I've owned (and ive owned quite a few now). The finish definitely helps it tonally and it sounds MUCH ballsier than most Ibananii with similar specs.

The neck carve is nicer than UVs, this is not stupid thin but being an 80s Ibanez its obviously still quite thin.

HNDG! Did the "guard dog" come with the guitar??

Rootbeer color guitars...rootbeer color dogs :D

Actually im rootbeer too....

Shit!!!

VERY cool. IMO, this is the nicest looking JEM they ever made. "Back in the day", I had the original floral JEM with the green vine inlays and my buddy then picked up one of these rootbeer ones. Needless to say, I was jealous.

Congrats!

Congrats!!!
i ALWAYS loved the rootbeer jems, are they a bit rarer than the others?
I have a BSB and love it!

Love it man!
I had the Desert Yellow, Shocking Pink and the Blue Floral and black floral. Never had a Lochness Green or this bad boy.

I know that alot more new Jems have came out thru the years.....but I stopped looking.

Nice. I had one just like it. It actually has a wizard neck, not the typical Jem neck. It's a bit thinner.

I'm not sure? I don't think these are ultra rare or anything. The burnt stain blue is one of my FAVORITES of all time. I would love to own one of those, a blue floral pattern, and an SK.... ugh..so much GAS.

I've got a rootbeer, eventually I grew sick of the look so I stripped it and sanded it back and re-did it in tartan cloth :)

Jem lover here...nice score! I always wondered why the rootbeer had that different hole instead of the monkey grip...it's reminiscent of a Performance guitar that he had.

Glad you got a good one...the one thing that I've learned is that the early Jems were horribly inconsistent from a tonal perspective. My BFP sounds "bigger" than any other Jem that I've ever come across, yet it is made from the same components as my other early Jems. The LNG that I sold last year was a complete tone dog in comparison...I should have made a recording to show the difference.

Nice, always thought these were one of the cooler Jems.

Very awesome. Probably one of the best looking jems I've seen.

One thing I don't understand why people stand super nice guitars on rocks, lay it in the grass or on the concrete for pictures.

I put a sock underneath, you cant see it because of the way i cropped the pic ;)

"If you char it with a blowtorch, you can actually see that basswood has a grain"

Great color!
I'd yank out those pink pickups for some BKs though
Ugly and squealy when I owned the yellow one back in the day
