Did an internet buy of a used Masters Design VXtreme, cheap, via pictures and owners word. Cheap enough to be a project.

Right off the bat the action was way way high and the Floyd seemed out of wack. Pulled it out and found the mounting studs had been moved forward 1/8", done incorrectly and piss poorly.
To make a long story short, experimenting, with the moved mounting holes Floyd hits the front of the cavity, using original holes Floyd hits back of cavity.
In a spot that wouldn't show I tried scoring the finish with a razor to see if it would stop chipping if I routered the cavity just bit to enlarge. No go, finish chips when scored.

So I ordered a Kahler 7300 and adapter plate. My problem is I am not sure what/where to make the distance from the nut to the saddles of Kahler. Short scale, so should I use the Kahler short scale of 24 3/16?

i would just dowel the holes and drill them correctly.

i do not really understand your scale question. the bridge does not dictate the scale.
