I got an '83 Squier Strat for free. The thing has been repainted, chipped away and generally beat to hell over the years. I love it and have decided to convert it into a Super Strat with dual humbuckers and all new components. I was just going to replace the bridge with another vintage style tremolo, but now I'm considering going the full Monty and having it routed for a Floyd Rose. Any estimates on what a tech/luthier may charge me for the body and neck to be routed? Thanks, guys.

Depends on the bridge that's on there now, also if you want it floating or dive-only.
If it's a modern two point versus six-screw, the body may have to be plugged to drill and install the Floyd posts, whereas with the six screw you can just drill.
Most of the time spent will be on the set-up. Neck will have to be shimmed, saddle pieces will have to be shimmed to match the neck radius.
Make sure to buy the correct nut width and radius for your neck.

More money than it is worth honestly...

You also have to be mindful of how far the bridge pick up cavity is. Sometimes on strats there is very little meat between the floyd post and the pup cavity.

Thanks, guys. I kind of figured it'd be more money than it's worth but I had to ask.
