You can see it in the background of this video. Anyone have any inside info on it?

Like I get that signature gear is meant to profitable and not useful, but has Het ever had a tone that like any distortion pedal couldn’t get?

The internet fanboys are analyzing that clip like the Zapruder film trying to get to the bottom of this. It makes sense that they'd try to get something in the public eye while the band is still in the spotlight. But I would think the release of the 2C+ and ++ were kind of the unspoken signature amps that people have been wanting.

I don’t like signature gear, which why I’m glad more than just Hetfield used the IIC++.

We should take bets on how much this amp will go for. I say if it’s available, $5K. If it’s a limited number of units: $4K

Wow, look at all those front panel 1/4” jacks. All you need to get the best out of this amp is to patch in an external preamp and power amp! It’s so kind of Mesa to make it this easy!
Hopefully they have 3 or 4 jacks on the back so you can integrate your favorite load box and IRs

Pretty sure that proto amp has been floating around for 5 yrs now in other pics of HQ, i doubt this ever gets released.

While I agree, there are 2 of them with custom cabs in the video released a day or two ago and the placement is pretty obviously deliberate since they're on blocks to make sure they're visible behind them.

his best tones was RtL Marshalls
That rhythm gallop during the solo on "Fight Fire With Fire" still sounds badass.

Master of Puppets is my favorite album by Metallica but I have to agree that RTL tone is probably his best tone. Master of Puppets has a bit of a mids thing.
