Anyone worked out Russ's lead to "into the pit"? I got it all except the last part where he sounds like he is sweeping a pentatonic set of notes. It's so smooth and I've heard him do that pattern before in other leads. I don't think I am fingering it correctly. Any help?

Got no idea what you are talking about but I do know his playing. Let me tell you, Russ is damn good and his licks are not easy as it sounds. He has AMAZING chops and I just moved on trying playing his stuff!! Hahaha...

Good luck!

Yea, the live stuff is great but it's not the lead on the album. I'm tryin' to find a more fluid way to finger the last phrase. I've been searching Paul Gilbert Youtubes in the hopes of finding a similar riff. So far no luck...

Is Russ a Rig talker? We could just ask him

What were they using back then amp wise?
Seen the Ampeg cabs...
Was it the VH140C?
that clip was brutal as all hell.

Nah. I doubt he needs Rig Talk to occupy himself when he has all the hookers and blow he can handle touring with Steel Panther. :D

I saw them live way back in the early 90's in Austin, were using some type of Ampeg, not sure buy they were intense live.
