Considering to buy a new audio interface. As few my units have S/PDIF, I have tried to find some interface with more S/PDIF inputs. There are many interfaces with lot of line/mic and ADAT inputs, but all of them have just one S/PDIF.

You studio guys, any solution for this? Or you don't use S/PDIF at all, or swapping cables?

You can get S/PDIF to AES converters but without knowing the specifics of your setup I’m not sure if that will help. Probably not, and connecting multiple units with S/PDIF outs to a interface, even if it had a few suitable inputs, would open up a world of pain regarding clocking.

Reason being that S/PDIF is a semi pro format, and units that use it over AES often can’t be clocked externally, meaning they must be the master (running on their internal clock). You can only have a master in a system, hence the problem and why you don’t see multiple S/PDIF options on gear.

Thanks for reply. Probably this will be the reason.
