So essentially it is just their MTS preamps loaded in a chassis.. Myasnikov does that too at a more affordable price point and cooler faceplates in case anyone is looking at preamp alternatives! What's the price on a dual SM-2 from Salvation?
Dude....you are clearly excited about Myasnikov (who I never heard of until this post). But how can you throw out a promotional shout out about how it is much cheaper than also ask about how much I paid?! Kind of disrespectful to everyone involved, but to answer your questions, contact Salvation for price quotes, I'm sure it changes depending on the features you require...to give you a ballpark, the price is about the price of 2 modded modules + a little extra on top- which makes sense as it is a hardwired in a clever 4cm midi rack that integrates with your current amp to add channels.
A quick look at info on Myasnikov's site shows me that his pricing stricture would likely be the same or more than the SM2...there's no options listed for 4cm integration with current amp channels, dual preamps, assortment of toggles nor Orange nor Framus circuits. Myasnikov products look interesting as a preamp clone rack, but not really a fair comparison as they present vastly different products and features.
I looked at Synergy, which is a closer comparison. I specifically wanted OR and Cobra preamps which is currently not offered there. I think it is unfortunate they didn't bring Antonin into that synergy operation, he is a genius with this stuff..but not sure if he was even interested? Regardless, I have a lot of experience with Salvation Audio, so for me this worked out perfectly on paper. I knew exactly which preamp circuits I loved from his catalog. Shipping now and then I'll give you all a proper review.
