What I find amazing is Ed came back from his condition/ playing of the 2004 tour.
Just came across this. Guitar is very audible, and the first thing I thought was, like Jimi, nobody is copying Ed, the sound, the vibe. He played all that difficult shit while jumping around, having a great time.

Can vouch that Eddie was a goddamn mess in that 2004 tour - the rest of the band was awesome but EVH was phoning in absolutely everything and burying everything under wah and whammy. Dude looked like your average tweaker outside Circle K
Conversely in the ADKOT tour, the band was on fire and DLR was the one shitting all over it
