Sambora strat help needed

Hi , just got hold of a Sambora strat USA with the 25db mid boost . I was wondering what k volume pot it should have originally and also if it should have a tbx tone control ? .

The reason I ask is when I tested it out the other night after a set up and fresh strings it sounded a little dull like it needed a bit more top end presence , also the tone control doesn't have any notch like a tbx and I have read Sambora had a tbx system originally .

Could be maybe the di Marzio or the guitar itself , but I don't think so , cheers .
 
Yer it has helped thank you very much . Maybe explains why it's slightly dull on the humbucker if its got a 250k volume pot .
Gonna get my guitar repair guy to have a look inside and if it is that value try a 500k , though the single coils will sound brighter .
