Hi all,

I'm sure you're sick of the 5150 comparisons by now, but I can't find this specific one so would appreciate some advice please.

I have the opportunity to buy either of these for almost the same price (£50 difference) - the ICONIC combo being ex-display. I only really care about the high gain stuff (obviously lol, but no care for clean or crunch etc), and it's only for bedroom play, so overall wattage isn't a concern (low volume tone retention is though).

Given the choice, which would be yours and why?

P.S. I already have a 2x12 cab I can use, so no additional cost worry ;)

The LBX is still stupid loud, needs to be cranked a little to sound decent. I much prefer the iconic tone personally and it does better at low volume, even being 40w.

It depends on the feel you’re after. The Iconic has a stiff feel due to the way solid state circuitry.

I prefer the lbx feel and sound especially through a 4x12. The Iconic has a thin attitude to it I don’t like.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I'd been looking for a way to test them but there's no music stores within a few hours drive that has any to try, but I've just discovered that there's an annual guitar show happening in just under 2 weeks at a venue nearby, so I'm going to attend and hope there's at least one of the amps there lol.
