Yeah I have to admit that sometimes the show can get a bit tiresome with these guys. I also was a little negative on them after this interview. I mean quit fucking around and just be somewhat normal and tell us about your gear.

if they were normal they would not be getting interviewed by anyone. they would due another cheesy cover band rehashing cheese.

I get Steel Panther but the whole point of that interview was for a rig run down for a serious musician's mag not a stupid fan mag.

Waste of the magazine's time and money !!!!!!!

...then you don't get it...he is playing a character...acting. He is in no way being serious. That is what I meant when I said that they were interview Satchel and not Russ.  For the interview you want, they would interview Russ.

"I think I used a Vox wah-wah..........you like those don't you"?

Oh man, this was freaking hilarious.....exactly how it was meant to be.

Rebecca is a stone cold hottie too!

Rebecca was the best part of the interview..... and yes I know they are always in character I just figured he could have been in character and actually talked about the gear more!

i hate 80s butt rock and that was the greatest thing ever

some of you guys need to relax

Aww come on, the songs and lyrics are as cheesy as hell but you gotta admit the guy has some serious chops and really nails the 80's tone !

Exactly, but I wouldn't want to hear about what cable he uses in place of the jesting

"butt rock".....but...your avatar.....I'm confused

Geez, it's not like there's a lot of people trying to get Russ' "tone", so what difference does it really make? I'd rather hear him be funny too.

On another note, Russ was teaching at GIT when I was there in 91' and the guy will absolutely rip your face off with his playing. I had this dick guy for a private counselor who I could barely even understand, he was only into jazz and straight out told me that all other music sucked. Anyways, Russ had an open slot at the same time which I could've taken. I asked him and he was like, sure just get them to switch your schedule. Well, they wouldn't so I was like, I thought I was paying you some pretty good money and I'm not asking for something major so if you won't let me switch I'm done. I left.........and that is why I suck.

I didn't think this thread would strike such a nerve.

Come on guys, it's as if she interviewed Skwisgaar Skwigelf and you're expecting an interview of Brendon Small. Satchel is a fictional character.

In a day of almost nothing but whining, crying, bitching, and screaming in Rock and Metal, Steel Panther remembers the one thing rock n roll is supposed to be about....having FUN!!! I've seen their show and met them several times and they are great entertainers as well as musicians. If you take anything they do or say seriously, you're missing the point entirely.

If the title of this thread was "Nigel Tuffnel rig rundown", would anyone expect to hear about Christopher Guest's rig?

Love Steel Panther! Shows how fun the 80's hair metal scene was, in an over the top way!
