Rehearsing for Easter this morning.
I'm really digging the Plexitone.

I was thinking of dragging my new Earcandy cab and the JTM45 tomorrow, but the tones coming out of the Twin are so nice I probably won't bother.

Wow, I look at these pics and came to the conclusion that the iPhone 5 camera sucks....

What kind of monitor system is that? and does your church video the service?
thanks, Mark

Plexitone through a Fender amp is a great way to go.......I have been gigging with mine through a 67 Bassman head with very satisfying results......If you are ever looking for a nice compliment to the PT try a TC Mojo Mojo before the PT in your chain, they work very well together...

QSC monitors. Not sure about the mix controller.
The entire p.a. System is about three weeks old. Our old system was about fourteen years old and is was dying. We never knew what was going to work from week to week.
It sounds amazing. Huge and clear. The drums sound like cannons.

I sent a pm.

Interesting. There's one on the local CL for sale now.

The rig sounded great today.
Finally hit the Plexitone crunch channel with my Keeley Baked TS-9 and it sounded great. Really complimented it perfectly for that endless sustain lead thing.
Did one solo with all feedback. Very cool when you can get enough volume going to hit a note and immediately jump into harmonic feedback.

I have a lowly Twin Reissue and still think it sounds killer, love it. :)

Are Fender Twins lowly?
I must be out of touch. I used it in front of 1,200+ people today. Would the band have sounded better if I "upgraded"? ;)

I meant reissue compared to the originals. Reissue Twin's are very reviled on TGP.

Lots of Stryper, too. And probably "Heaven" by Warrant. :D

Whatever is popular and mostly current.

I honestly don't know any of the artists. I don't listen to the type of music I play there. Sounds funny I guess, but....I'm not interested in it.

The band leader actually requests I don't listen to the tunes before rehearsal because he likes what I play more so than the parts on the original recordings. I rock things up more and play ballsier parts.

I just show up at rehearsal and the charts are there, we run the tunes a couple times and I come up with riffs and parts on the spot and we go with it. Very rarely does he ask me to play a signature part on a tune. He usually says things like, "hey man, do you have your slide? Can you use it to play a melody here or a solo there?"

It's just the way it works out. I like it. I'm always open to suggestions. I want people to like what they're hearing. I've been playing long enough where I can edit myself well. For instance I never play over a vocal melody. Basics.

That's cool.
I perform once in a while with a symphony. Usually I like to add my own thing, improvise tastefully when I can.
At first I was a bit reserved in doing that with this gig because it was all sheet music and I thought it had to be just so. But little by little I added my own 'touch' to the songs and was met with 'hey that's great', so it became more and more improvising...and it became more and more fun for me.
Now I have free reign to do what I like. You must be a good player (and understand what the songs calls for) to have people with faith in you like that....letting you do what you do. Very cool!
