There were 3 bands all together. All were decent, but LOG was exceptional.
Great lights and a whole Digidesign sound board. Drums sounded killer!
Very Loud, as can be imagined and good mix overall.

They played a bunch of tunes off Laid To Rest, really fun!

Back line was ALL Mesa speakers, both guitar and bass.
The thing I was thinking, no way the tones coming from their guitars were straight Mesa.

Anyway, great show...never seen them before. Anyone else dig live LOG?

LoG rocks. I haven't seen them live in a while. What makes you think their tone is not Mesa?

Edit: not straight Mesa....

I guess it was more Willie's tone than Mark's. Just sounded different than any Mark V tone I have ever been able to dial in. I suppose that's my possible user error though. The tones did mix pretty well.

I haven't spent a lot of time tweaking channel 3, so maybe that's the issue.

Anyway, pretty cool to see them in a smaller venue. 3500-5000 seat auditorium. Not really a bad seat in the house. I like seeing killer acts like this in the smaller places, much better than an arena, IMO.

Willie uses the extreme mode on channel 3.

You never know if they are actually using amps, ISO cabs or straight into the PA. Sometimes bands go to great lengths to fool people.

Hahaha, yeah I've seen that pic before.

I can believe Willie uses extreme mode, that's exactly what I haven't spent any time with.
I have used the Mark IIC mode and Mark IV mode exclusively, never Extreme mode.
Guess I will need to spend some time in Extreme mode and see what I can come up with.

Have you ever dialed in a LOG type tone in Extreme mode R45? Any tips?

The one guy uses a Mark V and the other guy uses a Royal Atlantic. One thing I found out about the Royal is crank it up at band volume and there's no need for an OD pedal. Me and some old friends jammed Friday night and we play LOUD, the drummer is just loud. I had the amp up halfway with no power soak and stepping on a boost pedal resulted in Niagra Falls, way too much. The amp is gainier the louder it is.

Another trick of theirs is for one of the guitarists to run one Mark with the mids at ten and another Mark with mids at zero. They do use real, functioning cabs for a backline too, I've seen them. They may not all be plugged in, but they aren't dummy cabs.

yeah the royal atlantic are where the other tones are coming from
