I'm in LA for a few days, and figured the Whisky was something I had to see. I was pumped to see that the LA Guns were playing. Some good opening bands too, Cut was really good. I got to meet their guitarist, he also plays for Smash Mouth. He gave me and my buddy Smash Mouth picks with his contact info on them (in case we ever go see Smash Mouth), that was pretty sick. And of course, Tracii Guns is an awesome player. I'm not totally sure what amps he was using, but I got a somewhat grainy photo of his rig. I'll add a short video too once I'm on wifi!

I remember watching videos when I was trying to determine what digital amp modeling system to get where Tracii said he plays Headrush stuff exclusively lol I guess if they're offering to pay, he'd say he plays Gorilla practice amps.

Lol, yup. I would definitely start to question at that point 🤣

Core memory: listening to LA Guns debut record on my Walkman while on vacation with my folks in Ocean City around '89. Also, DLR's Skyscraper. Good stuff.
That sounds like an awesome time! Would have been a really cool experience. I missed out on that era by 30 or 40 years, I'm pretty jealous of everyone who got to experience it

Being a teenaged guitar player in the era of 80's guitar gods was rad. Being a 20's something in the era of alternative rock was doubly so.
I believe it 100%! It's such a bummer that that era had to end. Although, I suppose if it lasted forever it wouldn't stand out in such a great way

Looking at Tracii stage amps i didn’t now he played a Soldano SLO
After thinking about it, they brought in a guy named Carlos (didn't catch his last name) for one song at the end, and they said he was a local guitar legend. I'm wondering if the SLO was his...?
