Scaled down wet/dry/wet rig for jamming

I had this ridiculous monster rack with a million cables, pedal, etc. that was crammed in the corner of my studio and I could never really use it for anything outside of the studio. I wanted a wet/dry/wet rig that I could actually move around and use for the occasional jam, etc. So... I sold off alot of my crap and settled on this (also bought a new guitar as well with part of the proceeds... more on that later  ). The Mojave goes to a mono 4x12 that it is sitting on. The line out of the Mojave goes to the Lexicon MPX-1 and then to the VHT 2/50/2 and then into my stereo Mojave cab... Real simple... The Decimator will be used for the loop of my Egnater Seminar amp (going to the class May 24/25  ) when I wanna use that amp instead of the PM. So... its really dry/wet/wet, but close enough for r-n-r. This I can actually move to a jam pretty easily The rack case has wheels and a telescoping handle - kind like a piece of carry on luggage... I'm actually working on getting a vehicle I can actually use to move this stuff around as well since I can't move anything in my 'vette... Anyway, here 'tis:

I haven't even started programming the Lexicon yet - just made sure everything worked ok... That will be this weekend's project...

So whaddaya think?

I think that I also have the same MPX1 - VHT 2/50/2 setup for my wet side :)

Very nice and I bet you will have it sounding huge Steve  Thanks for the floor shot.

I think its great and I also think that we are all on the same page! What I mean is that my new live is almost identicle to what you have. I have a gator 6 space rack with an effects unit and a gcx switching system and Im contemplating putting my mesa 2:90 in it for the grease although the loop in the boog is working just fine! Im also working on getting a vehicle to transport all this crap since I cant put it in my mustang :hys:

Way to go!! I need a serious review of the amp seminar brother!!

I just tried a few reverb presets and I felt like I was playing the LA Staples Center! Quite huge...

Post some pics of what you are takin' to jams!

Always happy to give ya a floor shot, big guy!

Reveiw and pics of the seminar will be provided, my brother!

Yeah, that Gator 6 space with the wheels and stuff is da bomb... I've never been a big fan of loops. I like line out -> efx -> power amp -> cab(s) = 100% wet stereo effected goodness!

Put up some pics of what you're using live man!

Excellent!!

You have no idea how much I wanted to go to the seminar. I nearly booked it 3 times but I took the money and threw it at my credit cards.

With that said, I should be getting a digital camera soon, so I will definitely take some pictures of the rig! I agree with you about hating loops but Its the easiest rig for me to put together right now without having to lug multiple cabs!! As soon as I get my new ride, I will have the slave rig o doom :D The Gator case just kill and they are light as hell even with the gear loaded (minus the poweramp for now!)

The rig right now is sounding killer though! I have the MKIV going through a rocktron xpression and I have a PQ3 in the rack that I kick in and out for leads or if I want a different tone.

It sounds insane :D

YOU ROCK!!

Looks good man, and I agree - the Peacemaker head, half a rack setup, and a pair of 4x12's is a low key, subtle, and easily transported jam rig.

that is a beautiful setup my man.

i've always been more of an 8 space or less rack guy myself.

ever thought of turning both cabs into stereo cabs, so you could feed the outer four speakers (when both cabs are side by side) left and right wet signals, four maximum spread, and the inner four speakers the dry tone?

Say, what kind of roller rack is that? I don't know why I never thought to put the wheels up...

I still think it's funny that's your idea of scaled down and portable...

Steve that is a killer rig for sure. Funny enough, I have also been dicking around with w/d setup at home, Masotti line out into my fx and then thru power amp. Masotti on a 2x12 and power amp into another 2x12. HUGE sound.

I'd be carefull with the case and the tube power amp. Definitely when the amp has just been used, you could be replacing power tubes very quickly.

See, THAT'S why we keep you around! Two stereo cabs - side by side, outside speakers wet- inside dry. BRILLIANT!

I'm doin' it with 2 2x12's. Big rig will be a 4x12 in the middle, dry and the 2 2x12's on either side for the wet. Scaled down will be the 2 mono/stereo 2x12's as you described.

Oh man now that is an idea!!!!!

Maybe you were listening to Bradshaw while still taking calls in his show

Yeah some of the presets like Cathedral are insane but I admit yes I have gunned the amp through that one and did my best at shredding through it   It takes time to create your own patches but you can also take the standard ones and tweak them, one was something like guitar big lead and I toned down the chorus and verb.

My VHT is in the show right now getting biased and freshened up, I will post some pics when I get it back.

Sounds like a great idea, but I think I'd have to replace speakers because the only way to feed the 2 dry sets of 2 interior speakers from the PM is at 8 ohm. The 3 "virtual cabs" I have are all 16 ohm... If I could make all 4 sets of 2 speakers 8 ohm I could even have a completely dry cab for recording the PM dry... hmmm... Too bad it would cost a fortune to do it!

cockadoodledoo (yawn)!

mind your ohms and watts people...that's the biggest hassle about switching rigs for me

i've got my bogner 4x12 for dry and two matching wet 1x12s for the day i lose my mind again and and wander into 3-way live madness.

i figure two EVs, or two celestion golds in the stereo 1x12s should suffice

ps-i added a cool vid of chris poland/Ohm jamming for the very first concert held at tone merchants, and outside of some camera mic fizz in the loud parts, you can sorta hear his bradshaw rig do it's thing...plus he shreds.
