Quick PSA: if you're running a Scarlett 18i20 on Linux and recently started having issues with it, like UCM error messages popping up in places or garbled input, it could be this bug: https://github.com/alsa-project/alsa-ucm-conf/issues/559 Like the posters in that thread mentioned, downgrading to alsa-ucm-config 1.2.13-2 on Arch fixed it for me. No more UCM errors, and I can record with the interface again.
