Any feedback on these guitars. I'm looking for a shred guitar to take me back to the 80's LOL looking at the Schecter and also looking at the ESP LTD MH-1000HS - Black Cherry Fade both made in Indonesia all of my guitars are USA made so i have no idea about Indonesia quality tell me your thought and suggestions please.

I'm not much into Indos myself, but all SVSS models Ive tried have been a pleasure to play

I have a stealth Sun Valley Super Shredder that's a killer guitar. Really tight and percussive. Perfect for detuning.
Mine was made in South Korea though. When did they move production over to Indonesia?

Here's mine btw. Just awaiting delivery of some Motor City pickups for it.

GO MIJ. Jackson or ibanez prestige.

Both of those will have a wider, flatter neck than the Schecter. VERY different feeling.

That looks great Gavin!!

I played the III for quite a bit awhile back as I was looking for something with a floyd on the cheap. Good guitar but I preferred the overall feel of the regular super shredder vs the III. Ultimately though, ended up buy one of the new Charvel DK24's that for me, in my opinion just felt and played better than the Schecters, the neck on the DK's are incredibly smooth and easy feeling. Plus the III, something about the pickup alignment was off, obviously we're talking nuance but it didn't look right.

You do have a valid point, but the build quality doesn't compare.

I'd honestly get anything over an Ibanez, just can't stand their necks.

They aren't for everybody. But I will still stand that quality for the dollar used is unbeatable.

Likely is, tho I've encountered in recent times Prestige models with less than desiderable fret ends honestly.

I noticed that in Sam Ash the other day.

All of mine are stamped with JCraft those tend to be better than the others that aren't.

Ok thanks for the suggestions i ended up buying a Charvel San Dimas charcoal Grey with Ebony fingerboard should have it Thursday will let everybody know how it pans out.

I have a schecter E-1 FR-S ,
its my first indonesian made guitar. It hangs with all my American made guitars in every respect.Fit and finish was perfect,it also sounds great and plays great . I prefer it to my Gibson explorer that I spent much more on.
So I would say go for it and don't give it a thought that it was made in indonesia

MIM or MIJ?

MIM. I had a MIJ So Cal years ago and foolishly sold it. Hoping the MIM is as good or at least close. at the end of the day the Indonesia thing scared me and MIM quality seams to have come a long way at least on the few fender Strats from Mexico that i have played that friends own.

MIM Charvels have gotten REALLY good over the past couple years, as have the MIIndo Jacksons. Are they MIJ level? No. Are MIJs tough to find and getting crazy overpriced? Yep.
