Will Schmidt do modern heavy tones? Something like Godsmack rhythm tones?

I'm not very familiar with godsmack but I have to say, the Schmidt is capable of an AWFUL LOT. It has a very decent amount of gain on tap. I have never once felt I needed 'more' out of it. I believe it comes down to your pickups. I've run a number of pickups through it (including EMGs) and it has delivered considerable chunk. It's no vh4 but it's no slouch, by ANY means.

In saying all of this, you may find an Einstein 50 a better fit.

Check out the guitar-shop.de demo videos with the Schmidt. I think it'd do a passable job. Much heavier than you'd think given its specs.

it can get pretty heavy with it's amount of gain, but it's not designed to be a supertight metalamp.

i have to say ; YES.
it will sounds vintage but the amp have enough gain.
months ago i was at the workshop in bad steben and played the schmidt with my PRS Mark Tremonti II.
the schmidt is not so tight like my einsein but it´s a diezel.
a non tight diezel is at time tighter as many amp on th market could be.
the einstein is also a vintage sounding and morhe british sounding amp as the other diezels.
but if you dont know the other amps is the einstein metal enough for every band.

btw.
