just got a schmidt & want know what preamp toobs would be best in channel 2&3 to push this puppy into the highess gain possible??

I'm not overly familiar with the Schmidt first hand, but for high-gain preamps, straight up Chinese/Shuguang 12AX7B or C should do the trick.

I tried one of these out last year at NAMM and I have to say I was very impressed.

It had some pretty good gain to it and I was able to get some nice palm muting going on with it.

Try it with a guitar that has heavy sounding pu's, you'll be impressed with the heaviness you can get from the amp.

Nice lead tone as well, my friends were impressed with the way the notes were holiding out.

I have considered getting one of these after I sell my Herbie since it is smaller and might fit in my Mark V head case (if I don't get a D Moll).
