I had a Mark IV and a Quick Rod. Didn't care for the Mark,Quick Rod is cool. Check out the Stage II Stiletto. I just got one and like better than both.
The Stiletto is the bastard stepchild of the mesa lineup for some reason that I dont understand. It literally is one of the best amps ive ever had. Id still have it if it wasnt for that god damned GAS :D

Though im happy with my current amp, I really regret moving my Stieltto Trident. Awesome amp. Great cleans. Great crunch. Great high gain. You can usually find them for a steal.

You guys have peaked my interest on the Stiletto......Seems like it would be more my style. great cleans with a pissed off Marshall vibe. Is the Stiletto as tight sounding as the QR?

I own a Trident, Tremoverb and IV .... they are all very different amps. The Stiletto sounds best to me with the midrange and bass turned up and the treble and presence turned down. Pretty much the opposite of how I set up the IV. Because the Stiletto covers a lot more range than the vintage English crunch amps it is voiced after the tone pots have a wider tapper. This is so they well work well with the different modes in each channel. Also like the vintage amps the Stiletto sounds a lot better turned up. The IV well work better from low on up volumes.

I'm not too worried about the low volume thing, I have other amps for that. This amp will be my main gigging amp but 100 watts is still probably a tad overkill :D Does it sound good on the 50 watt setting?

Mine is 150 or 50 .... they are just different voices. It is a little thinner and breaks up a little faster. I do not really use it as a volume control and more like a other voice option. Almost always 150 for me, I like the extra girth.
