Yeah, but it's not my guitar tree... that's ok, I'll be introducing the guitar to my local photoshoot sites once it gets here.

I'm going to have a hard time not buying another if they do a color I like also... this orange is kinda cool (have to admit I haven't owned many orange guitars) but if they do a yellow, white or green with the black pickguard my money will fly out of my pocket. Green especially, you could do a pretty kickass Vai 'green meanie' Charvel with one of these as the basis.

I figure I'll be ditching the pickguard for a shiny one from warmoth (will probably have to pay custom pickguard fees, I'll find out by measuring one I have here) and of course dump the volume knob. Pickups may be ok, I'm not super picky on pickups as long as they don't sound too dull or harsh and don't feed back. Zebras would look better though!

I don't KNOW anything about the colors. I do KNOW that I have never heard white mentioned. I also know that in the original video on the Charvel site that there was a picture of color samples with the ones we just got, and also with a dark metallic blue, and an electric green color. Then, the next day the video had been edited and that section was out of it. A ton of people had already seen it though.

I have heard rumours from Charvel guys, not employees, but Charvel freaks and those rumours would IMPLY that you and danyeo should get into fortune telling. At this point, none of us KNOW for sure. My rep won't give even the slightest hint what's next and there is a good chance he doesn't even know yet.

I'm telling you guys though... Pagan Gold SD1 with cream pickup rings and zebra pickups FTW!

I'm getting the black one without the pickguard...going to add chrome pickup rings...nice guitars. Played one the other day and was really suprised.

I just received my San Dimas Style 2 today (black tele). Its awesome, right out of the carton the thing was in tune and set up really well - the floyd is even set up right, which is something I was really worried about (Floyds sort of scare me). It fits in most of my strat-style cases too.

The neck is wonderful, not too terribly thin, and I LOVE the unfishined maple.

The trem bar is fucked though, and that ruins an otherwise perfect NGD. The damn thing won't screw onto the threaded post. I took the entire assembly apart (e.g. took off the threaded post by going underneath the bridge) and I can't tell if its the post or the little bushing that screws onto the post. Damn, what a silly thing to be messed up and prevent me from diving away. The store is sending me a new one so its no biggie, but I was hoping to use it this weekend. I might pillage the bar assembly (or a close one) from another guitar of mine with a quasi-OFR so I can use it. I'm not a big trem guy, but if the guitar has the unit I want to be diving!

But yeah, I paid the full $999 and I couldn't be happier with the damn guitar. The black body is quite striking against the nearly white neck.

I'm having the cavity shielded, the electronics replaced, and a new bridge pickup installed, and the tech who's doing the work noticed that in the cavity underneath the black spray there is metallic red paint. There are a couple of tags or stickers in the cavity and they also have red paint on them.
