Whenever I turn don the volume knob on my Pro Am it gets a bit scratchy right before the volume is completely off. What can I do to fix this? I assume it is the pot?

Deoxit contact cleaner.
They make a liquid with a needle applicator.
The spray is fine but even with the skinny straw to pin point the spray,it still goes all over.
